New study programmes and cooperation with elite universities from USA and India
On Thursday, the 7th January 2016, Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Felix Unger, the President of the European Academy of Science and Arts and the President of Alma Mater Europaea of EASA participated at the Senate of Alma Mater Europaea – ECM. Members of the Senate and guests listened to the presentation of international dimensions of Alma Mater Europaea as Prof. Dr. Felix Unger underlined the importance of the Slovene division AMEU – ECM, which includes the Dance Academy and ISH – Institutum Studiorum Humanitatis in Ljubljana.
A special guest at the Senate was also Prof. Dr. Creston Davis, the Director of the Global Center for Advanced Studies – GCAS and a lecturer at Columbia University. He introduced a programme for international cooperation between Alma Mater Europaea – ECM and elite universities from the USA by inviting American students to attend the post-graduate full time study programme of Humanities and organising a summer school.
The Senate of Alma Mater approved the international education programme for foreign students, which will be held in Slovene, English, Italian and German language on all three stages, in particular for the programmes Social Gerontology, Health Sciences, Humanities and Anthropology.
The Indian delegation led by H.E. Mr. Sarvajit Chakravarti, the Ambassador of India in the Republic of Slovenia, also joined the Senate. The Indian Ambassador expressed a special interest in cooperation with elite Indian universities. The discussion revolved around a joint study programme in the field of Business Studies.
The Senate also approved the new study programmes adjusted according to the international labour market – a PhD Project Management programme and an undergraduate Humanities programme. Moreover, the Senate appointed a working group for a Master’s degree programme in the field of Autism.
