Professor Verica Trstenjak on human rights, sustainability and the digital age

The Former Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the EU Professor of European Law in Austria and Slovenia will lecture on human rights, sustainability and the digital age as an invited speaker at the 11th Annual Conference of Europe's Sciences and Arts Leaders and Scholars, 'It's About People 2023'.

»The future of the world is digital. This is an advantage but can also present a danger to human rights. In the digital age, it is necessary, always and everywhere, to respect human rights and prevent their restriction. Artificial intelligence cannot decide our rights. Moreover,  AI should not take human rights away from us. Thus, to repeat Einstein:  'The human spirit must prevail over technology',” noted Dr Verica Trstenjak.

The participants in the discussion on March 13 at 10.00 AM (CET) are Marinka Žitnik, assistant professor at Harvard University; Nikolaus Forgo, professor at the University of Vienna; Alberto De Franceschi, professor at the University of Ferrara; and Rok Žvelc, a legal associate of the European Commission.
