The first year of the program includes six courses and two seminars. In the subsequent years, the focus shifts towards individual work, specifically the development of a thesis proposal, conducting research, and defending the thesis.

STUDY CURRICULUM:

First Year: Take six courses, including three compulsory and three elective ones. Additionally, participate in two seminars focused on specific topics within project, program, and portfolio management.

Second Year: Devote time to preparing your doctoral proposal. Engage in two mandatory PM workshops, conduct case study research, participate in a PM conference, and present and publish a paper at the conference.

Third Year: Engage in doctoral dissertation research. Publish a research article in a journal listed in Web of Science or Scopus. Conduct a company visit and present your research findings to an industrial partner (company or organization). Finally, publish a paper in a recognized project management journal.

The course is conducted entirely in English, with all lectures, activities, and student submissions being conducted in the English language.

The majority of exams will be conducted online, ensuring accessibility and flexibility for students. However, there will be two courses that require in-person meetings to be completed. Additionally, some exams will be in the form of assignments that students must individually or collaboratively complete and submit.

2.21 What happens if I do not take all the exams required by the study plan?

To progress to the second year, each student must successfully acquire a minimum of 60 credits in the first year. If needed, the university may arrange additional exam sessions upon the student's request and at an additional cost. In cases where a student is unable to accumulate the required credits, options such as requesting an extension or taking a sabbatical year are available. During a sabbatical year, the student can take the missing exams to fulfill the credit requirements.

The degree obtained upon completion of the program is Doctor of Science in Project Management.

3. Application & Enrollment

This call for admission is also officially published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia and on the website of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, usually in January.

3.3 Is it necessary to pass an admission test to become a student?

No, there is no admission test required for enrollment. However, it is highly recommended to secure your spot by enrolling as early as possible, as there is a maximum number of students allotted for each academic year. The university evaluates your application and curriculum vitae (CV) as part of the admission process.

3.4 Where can I find information regarding admission to Alma Mater?

For first-level study programs, the announcement is usually made in December, while for second and third-level study programs, it is published in January. 3.5 How can I apply?

Please reach out to us by completing a simple online form. By doing so, you are not committing to enroll in the program; rather, the form serves as a means for us to gather information about you as a candidate. A representative from the university will then contact you to address any inquiries you may have. If selected by the selection board, you will receive an invitation to enroll. During the registration process for the Sustainable Development program, students are required to submit their bachelor's degree final certificate, transcript of grades, and a diploma supplement.

3.6 Is it possible to request the recognition of credits and have some exams validated?

Yes, it is possible to request credit recognition for coursework completed at other institutions. When filling out the form, please provide detailed information about the credits obtained from the previous institution. It's important to note that there is a fee of EUR 1000 associated with the credit recognition procedure.

3.7 What are the program enrollment requirements?

To be eligible for enrollment in the MA in Sustainable Development, students must have successfully completed a minimum of a three-year undergraduate program. It is important to note that the number of available spots for admission is limited, and only a select number of students will be accepted into the program.

4. The University Fee

4.1 What are the tuition fees for study courses at Alma Mater?

4.2 What is the cost of the entire program?

Tuition for Alma Mater Europaea amounts to EUR 8,600 per year, covering two semesters. If you have completed a four-year undergraduate program and are eligible for credit transfer, there is a potential for cost reduction. This comprehensive fee covers all courses, literature and materials, as well as access to an e-classroom featuring recorded lectures.

4.3 Can I pay in installments?

Upon enrollment, a payment of EUR 2,000 is required. The remaining balance can be paid in equal installments over a period of five or eight installments. Please note that if you opt for the installment plan, an administration fee of EUR 20 will be added to each payment.

4.4 Can I apply for a scholarship?

Applicants have the opportunity to apply for the scholarship offered by the Academicus Foundation.

The foundation's fund provides scholarships for a three-year study period, totaling up to EUR 6,000 (EUR 2,000 per year). These scholarships are specifically designed to support successful and talented students, as well as those facing financial challenges. Interested individuals can submit their scholarship application using this form.

It is important to note that applying for the scholarship does not require candidates to enroll or commit to any obligations. Within 10 days following the application deadline, applicants will be notified of the approved scholarship amount.

4.5 In addition to the university fee, what other costs must the student cover?

In addition to the university fee, students are required to pay an admission fee of €100.00 for each year of study. There is also a one-time fee of €50.00 for the issuance of the booklet of notions and skills.

4.6 Is it possible to pay the tuition fee and other contributions in cash at the Alma Mater Student Office?

Unfortunately, cash payments at the Alma Mater Student Office are not accepted.

4.7 Can a legal entity pay the tuition fee for me?

Yes, the tuition fee can also be paid by a legal entity.

It is the responsibility of students to arrange their own transportation to the location of the in-person sessions held in mid-March each year. Alma Mater will provide complimentary lunch during these sessions. Grant applications for travel expenses are encouraged, and they will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
