The 11th European congress for integrative medicine (ECIM) will be held between 21 and 23 September in Hotel Union Ljubljana. The congress will be held under the auspices of the President RS, Mr. Borut Pahor, and in the organisation of Alma Mater Europaea - ECM and with cooperation of the Association of Integrative Medicine of Slovenia.
Slovenia was entrusted with the organisation of the congress at the previous congresses in Budapest in Berlin in competition with Barcelona. The congress presidents are prof. dr. Felix Unger (president of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts Salzburg), prof. dr. Ludvik Toplak (president of Alma Mater Europaea ECM), dr. Maruša Hribar, mag. pharm. (Member of the executive committee of the European Society for Integrative Medicine) and prim. mag. Marija Cesar Komar, dr. med. (President of the Slovene Association for Acupuncture).
The congress will welcome representatives of the most prestigious universities, including the University of California Los Angeles, Georgetown University Washington, Royal London Hospital Ormond Street and clinics such as Charité Berlin, representatives of Japanese, Chinese, Indian and Russian universities, scientists from European universities, such as the Medical University in Graz, Austria.
The congress will host over 300 delegates from all continents with 167 papers. The congress will cover several different academic areas, there will be up to 6 parallel sections. There will also be sub-congresses within the 11th ECIM: 1st Slovenian and 5th International congress of Ayurveda; the 1st Slovenian congress of Acupuncture, the 34th annual symposium of acupuncture, electrotherapy and the latest advancements in integrative medicine; the 15th biennial congress “B-Digital O-Ring Test”. The congress will also serve as a platform to numerous Slovenian scientists and professionals. The emphasis will be on Evidence-based methods in integrative medicine.
11th ECIM congress was presented at the press conference in Ljubljana by three presidents of ECIM 2018: prof. dr. Ludvik Toplak, president of Alma Mater Europaea – ECM, dr. Maruša Hribar, mag. farm, Member of the executive Board of the European Society for Integrative Medicine (ESIM Berlin), and prim. mag. Marija Cesar, dr. med., president of the Slovene Association for acupuncture. They were joined by prof. dr. Zmago Turk, dr. med., Member of the Scientific Committee of ZIMS, member of ESIM Berlin, and member of the European Academy fo Sciences and Arts Salzburg, and by dr. Momir Dunjić, Vice-president of ESIM Berlin.
