Alma Mater participates in Summer School of Sports Management in Valencia

At the initiative of Alma Mater Europaea, and in collaboration with the European Sport Business School (ESBS) and the European Union of Private Higher Education (EUPHE), an international summer school focusing on sports management and entrepreneurship in the sports industry was held in Valencia, Spain, in early July.

In partnership with the prestigious Valencia CF Academy, students from five different countries engaged in an intensive, week-long programme aimed at enhancing their knowledge and competencies for professional engagement in the global sports industry.

Among the participants were seven Alma Mater students from various study programmes, including Physiotherapy, Social Gerontology, and Health Sciences. The programme comprised lectures delivered by esteemed experts in the fields of sports marketing, club management, sponsorship development, and entrepreneurial thinking. In addition, students participated in practical workshops and concluded the programme with a final business pitch, during which they presented their innovative ideas.

"The Summer School in Valencia was truly an unforgettable experience. We acquired a wealth of practical knowledge about the inner workings of the sports industry and entrepreneurship, and had the opportunity to pitch our own ideas. The programme was excellently structured – expert lectures in the morning, and diverse sporting activities in the afternoon, which helped strengthen group cohesion," stated Ana Menegalija, a student of Physiotherapy.

Beyond the academic content, the programme placed great emphasis on experiencing Valencia as a cultural and sports hub. Students participated in organised activities such as sunset paddle surfing, beach volleyball, a tour of the Mestalla stadium, and a visit to the iconic City of Arts and Sciences.
