
As part of the study programs in Artificial Intelligence, we invite you to the event Cybersecurity – Perspectives from Slovenia and the United Kingdom, organized by Alma Mater Europaea in cooperation with the British-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce.
The event will feature Daniel Garnham, a leading UK cybersecurity expert, and Mag. Ivan Pridigar, from the Specialized State Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Slovenia andciate, a Eurojust asso will present the latest trends in cybersecurity and share practical experiences from both countries, focusing on challenges at the national level. Special attention will also be given to the growing role of artificial intelligence in this field.

Host and Moderator: Professor Dr. Matej Mertik
Associate Professor and Head of Web and Information Technology programs at Alma Mater Europaea. He is an Associate Research Fellow at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in the Protection and Electrical Integrity group of the Technology Department, and a Visiting Professor at CERN, where he has conducted research on the application of artificial intelligence methods and developed data analytics software for the operation of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
Guest Speakers:
- Daniel Garnham is an internationally recognized cybersecurity expert and founding member of the Global Online Harm Alliance. As a trusted collaborator of Interpol, the United Nations, the Council of Europe, CEELI, GIZ, and others, he has contributed to worldwide law enforcement support and security system reforms—from Africa to the United Kingdom. He also advises companies on achieving the highest information security standards under ISO 27001. His expertise combines global experience, technical knowledge, and an understanding of the legal challenges of the digital age.
- Mag. Ivan Pridigar from the Specialized State Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Slovenia and Eurojust associate, leads the prosecution of the most demanding cybercrime cases in Slovenia and Europe. At the event, he will share his experiences in prosecuting digital crime and highlight the challenges of cross-border and institutional cooperation.
