Dušanka Mičetić-Turk, M.D., Ph.D., received her doctorate from the University of Ljubljana and her honorary doctorate from the University in Oulu. She finished her specialization in pediatrics in UKC Ljubljana. Professor Mičetić-Turk spent her career at the University Medical Center Maribor. She is Head of the Chair for paediatrics at the Medical faculty University of Maribor since 2004.

Simultaneously with her clinical work she carried out research, particularly in the field of the celiac disease, IBD, nutrition and pediatric gastroenterology in general as well as education and research methods.                                                        

She has published more than 360 papers, book chapters, and review articles. Prof. Mičetić-Turk has been lecturing in the field of graduate and post-graduate education for many years. She is a mentor to junior doctors, physicians doing a specialization course, graduates working for master’s degree and Ph.D. She is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
