Education in Communication Skills for Conflict Resolution

In response to increasing aggression towards professionals in education, healthcare, and public services, Alma Mater Europaea University is launching a new program on conflict management through communication skills.

Society often deals with frustration through aggression, but effective conflict resolution relies on targeted training in communication techniques.

“Employees in schools, hospitals, and public services frequently face verbal and physical attacks, yet they are not always equipped to handle such situations,” explains lecturer Aleksander Krebl, who has taught conflict management internationally. “The solution lies in specific communication skills such as listening, empathy, asking questions, paraphrasing, and summarizing to de-escalate conflicts and promote understanding.”

The new program will focus on five core conflict-management skills: listening, empathy, asking questions, paraphrasing, and summarizing. “These techniques help control aggressive communication and can be applied in various scenarios to reduce the likelihood of violence and enhance mutual understanding,” Krebl adds. “By focusing on these skills, individuals learn to defuse potentially hostile interactions and create a more collaborative and respectful environment.”

This new program aims to foster a safer, more constructive environment by teaching individuals how to manage conflicts through effective communication. Alma Mater Europaea Univesity continues to respond to the needs of modern society, providing essential training to transform conflict into an opportunity for dialogue and resolution.
