Borut Šuklje, a respected politician and diplomat, was awarded an honorary doctorate posthumously, while Miran Erič received a posthumous doctoral certificate. The ceremony highlighted their outstanding work and significant contributions to the academic world.

The president of Alma Mater Europaea, Dr. Ludvik Toplak, praised Šukljet's intellect, empathy, and dedication to establishing the foundations of the Slovenian state. The dean of Alma Mater Europaea ISH, Dr. Lenart Škof, emphasized the irreplaceable loss and the power of remembrance. 

The event was attended by the families of the deceased, including Šuklje's widow, who expressed gratitude for the beautiful gesture. Distinguished guests like former President Borut Pahor also participated in the ceremony.
