Jure Masten, born in 1986, is a dancer, choreographer, dance teacher, and professor of biology and geography, who began his path in dance as a preschooler. While receiving his formal education (Gimnazija Ormož – high school, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Maribor), he also cultivated his talent for dance by taking classes at various dance centers and seminars in Slovenia and abroad, where he was introduced to many dance approaches. He combined all of his gathered knowledge and created his own style of class that contains dance form as well as the concept of various spheres of the approach to dance creation.

He continued his path in dance at Plesna Izba Maribor, Galerija Plesa and KD Center Plesa (dance schools), where, since 2003, he has regularly participated in a number of projects. Among others, he has also worked with SNG Maribor's (national theater) modern ballet choreographer Edward Clug, choreographer and dancer Miloš Isailović from Beograd, choeographer duo Nastja Bremec and Michal Rynia from Nova Gorica, and he also took part in the Dance Gallery Festival in New York, and danced in the winning choreography at the 3rd Slovenian Competition of Choreography Miniatures choreographed by Gaj Žmavc...

Since 2008 he has been working as a dance teacher of modern technique for various age groups, from children to professionals. For the last few years, he has also been developing his own contemporary pole dance technique.

Jure is a member of the professional contemporary dance company Tovarishia Dance Company.
