Associate Professor of Law at Alma Mater Europaea

Dr. Luka Martin Tomažič is an Associate Professor of Law and Vice-Dean for Research at Alma Mater Europaea. He is a full member and Vice-President of the Slovenian Academy of Legal Sciences. Born in 1988 in Maribor, Slovenia, Dr. Tomažič has cultivated an extensive academic background and professional experience spanning law, applied philosophy, and international relations.


Education

Dr. Tomažič holds a diverse range of qualifications, including:

· Ph.D. in Law from New University, Slovenia

· Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of London

· Master's in Economics and Business from the University of Maribor

· Advanced Diploma in Local History from the University of Oxford

· Graduate Diploma in International Relations from the University of London

· University Diploma (LL.M. equivalent) from the University of Maribor


Professional Experience

Dr. Tomažič began his career as an in-house lawyer and later served as General Counsel for a key energy company in Slovenia, gaining valuable insights into corporate legal practices. He has also collaborated as a research assistant with Professor Ernest Petrič, a noted figure in international law.

At Alma Mater Europaea, Dr. Tomažič is engaged in both teaching and research, fostering a rich educational environment for students. His academic contributions include over a hundred scholarly works, which encompass scientific monographs and articles.

In recognition of his professional accomplishments, Dr. Tomažič was honored in both 2023 and 2024 as one of the ten most influential lawyers in Slovenia by a renowned legal portal.
