On 27 August 2025, Alma Mater Europaea University hosted a working meeting between Rector Prof. Dr. Ludvik Toplak and H.E. Daniyar Sarekenov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Slovenia.
The meeting aimed to strengthen international cooperation and reinforce connections between European and Central Asian academic communities.
Kazakhstan is increasingly important in Central Asia regarding knowledge, digitalization, and technological innovation. Earlier this year, at the end of March, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, visited the country with an economic delegation. A key element of Kazakhstan’s innovation ecosystem is Astana Hub, a technology incubator and tech park that promotes the development of startups, innovation, and educational programs.
During the working meeting, opportunities for enhanced cooperation in education were highlighted, including:
Joint educational programs and research projects
Student and faculty exchanges
Organization of international conferences, seminars, symposia, and short academic programs
Exchange of academic materials, publications, and other knowledge resources
H.E. Daniyar Sarekenov's visit, accompanied by Embassy Advisor Askhat Shabarov, reinforces the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Alma Mater Europaea and opens new opportunities for the development of international educational programs, innovation, and research.
H.E. Sarekenov previously served as Ambassador to Indonesia and Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). His extensive experience in international relations and diplomacy represents a valuable contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of education and scientific research.
