Miroslav NOVAK, Archival Councillor graduated in History and Sociology of Culture at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts. He obtained the doctorate (Ph.D.) in 1999 at the University of Zagreb in the field of Information Technology. Since 1986 he has been employed at the Regional Archives Maribor. In the same year began his involvement with the International Institute for Archival Science (at that time still part of the Regional Archives Maribor). He is author of more than 400 published and performed works related to archival science. In addition, he is active as a member of the research-development team, responsible for the constructing of Cooperative Archival Information System of Slovenia and Slovenian

From 2000-2004 he was a member of the ICA Committee on Electronic Records. Furthermore, he is involved in the pedagogical process as a lecturer of archival science at the Technology School Centre Maribor, Higher Vocational College. Moreover, he is an assistant professor of Archival and Records Management Studies at DOBA- Faculty of Applied Business and Social Studies, Maribor as well as at Alma Mater Europaea - European Centre, Maribor.
