Professor Natalia Iananis is the Head of historical and character dances at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in Saint-Petersburg. She is an internationally acclaimed ballet artist and pedagogue. She is a guest lecturer at the Study of ballet pedagogy at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb as well as at other international institutions.

Over a period of two semesters the course trains the students to conduct the teaching of historical dances according to the regular teaching programme for primary and secondary ballet schools. The teaching is conducted through theoretical-practical lectures and exercises and teaching practice; it involves planning, conducting and evaluating one's own teaching practice and the teaching practice of colleagues.
