Lana Ritlop and three other Alma Mater students have been doing voluntary work in physiotherapy for two weeks at Rajagari Hospital in southwestern India.
"The hospital is considered one of the most developed in Kerala. Physiotherapy approaches are quite different from ours. The most interesting and productive is working as part of a mobile palliative team consisting of a doctor, a social worker, a nurse, and a physiotherapist. They visit residents with incurable medical conditions, especially the poor population. The task of the palliative team is also to take care of the necessities of life in the field." Lana adds that they try to use their knowledge and volunteer work to do as much good as possible for local patients who need medical care.
