Professor Mario Plenković memorial meeting


On Tuesday, June 13, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković welcomed the president of Alma Mater Europaea, Ludvik Toplak, and a delegation of academics.

The meeting was dedicated to the memory of Professor Dr. Mario Plenković, since it took place one year after his death. Academician Dr.  Plenković (1947-2022) was the founder and head of doctoral studies in Strategic Communication Management at Alma Mater Europaea - ECM, senator of Alma Mater, and member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. He lectured in Maribor for two decades.

"Professor Plenković, with his numerous scientific works, articles, and books, made an extraordinary contribution to the quality of our society. He will always be in my memory, and I am very grateful for his rich contribution to science and sincere friendship," said Dr. Toplak.

Among those who attended were Andrej Plenković, Dr. Vlasta Kučiš, Edita Benko Toplak, Dr. Ludvik Toplak, Dr. Dušica Mičetić Turk and Dr. Zmago Turk, Dr. Jelka Reberšek Gorišek and Dr. Borut Gorišek, Marijana Knez and Dr. Željko Knez, former rector of the University of Zagreb, Dr. Damir Boras, Slovenian ambassador Gašper Dovžan, and members of the European Order of Wine Knights, Zlatko Drev and Tomislav Kovačič. They talked together, and devised new possibilities for future academic cooperation between Zagreb and Maribor, especially in the form of flexible international scientific conferences, such as Society and Technology in Croatia, and It's About People in Slovenia.

Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman and Prime Minister's adviser Mate Geanić also participated.
