Alma Mater Europaea University invites you to a compelling live round table discussion, taking place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM (CET) via Zoom.

At the heart of the conversation lies a pressing question in the digital age:
Can artificial intelligence protect us—or might it pose a threat—in an era of increasingly sophisticated cybercrime? And who protects the protectors?

Host and Moderator:
Daniel Garnham (United Kingdom)
Daniel Garnham is an internationally recognized cybersecurity expert and a founding member of the Global Online Harm Alliance. He has worked with organizations such as Interpol, the United Nations, the Council of Europe, CEELI, GIZ, and others to support law enforcement and reform security systems worldwide, from Africa to the UK.

He also advises companies on achieving top-tier information security standards under ISO 27001. His approach combines global experience, technical expertise, and legal insight into the challenges of the digital era.

Guest Speakers:
Mag. Ivan Pridigar, Specialised State Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Slovenia
Dr. Tanja Pavleska, Jožef Stefan Institute

Mag. Ivan Pridigar, representative of the Specialised State Prosecutor’s Office of Slovenia and Eurojust collaborator, leads prosecutions of Slovenia's most complex cybercrime cases across Europe. He will share insights into digital criminal law and the challenges of cross-border cooperation.

Dr. Tanja Pavleska is an electrical engineer and researcher at the Laboratory for Open Systems and Networks at the Jožef Stefan Institute. Her work focuses on cybersecurity for AI and the use of AI to strengthen cybersecurity, particularly in the context of critical infrastructure. She also emphasizes trust, privacy, digital identity issues in the AI era, and explainability and transparency in AI systems.

Language and Interpretation:
The event will be in English and feature live simultaneous interpretation into Slovenian.
