Social gerontologists at the festival F3ŽO

At the jubilee 20th Festival for the Third Age (F3ŽO), which took place from 29 September to 1 October in Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana, Alma Mater presented its study program in social gerontology and related projects.

Social gerontology students and their professors introduced visitors to the profession of social gerontologist, which is still unknown to most. During the visit to the stand, their blood sugar and blood pressure were measured, and those interested were also given an insight into the international project, SenQuality - Preparation for later life, in which Alma Mater acts as a project partner.

As part of the festival, Alma Mater also organized a round table entitled The Importance of Social Gerontology for Qualitative Ageing. Assist. professor Peter Seljak, PhD, talked about the project SenQuality - Preparation for later life and the profession of social gerontologist as a profession of the future. Doctoral student of social gerontology, Mihaela Kežman, MA, and psychologist Bojan Krevh talked about dance as a means of combating dementia in their presentation entitled Dance, the Elderly and Dementia.
