State Secretary dr. Mitja Slavinec visited Alma Mater in Murska Sobota


"After more than 10 years of efforts, Murska Sobota will become a higher education center that enables free study of nursing. The efforts of students, who for several years pointed out the need to finance nursing studies in Pomurje, paid off. We are therefore extremely grateful to the state secretary, prof. dr. Mitja Slavinec, who listened to the needs of students in Pomurje. Under the current Government of the Republic of Slovenia, Alma Mater obtained a concession for the implementation of full-time study programme in nursing for 25 students per year, "said assistant prof. dr. Barbara Toplak Perovič, Secretary General of Alma Mater Europaea - ECM.

At the Faculty meeting of the Department of Nursing Studies in Murska Sobota, the study dean of the program, Mag. Edvard Jakšič, hosted prof. dr. Mitja Slavinec, State Secretary from the Ministry of Higher Education. The state secretary got acquainted with the current course of nursing studies in Murska Sobota and listened to the plans for the establishment of a full-time study programme of Nursing in the academic year 2022/2023. Dr. Slavinec also greeted physiotherapy students udring their laboratory exercises at the Murska Sobota location.
