
The Department of Archival Studies at Alma Mater Europaea University invites you to a professional symposium titled Archives and Archivists In The Roman Empire with a Focus on Poetovio, which will take place on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Grand Hotel Primus, Ptuj.
The symposium, organized by Alma Mater in cooperation with the Society for Roman History and Culture Ptuj, will be held as part of the traditional event Roman Games, which annually revives the rich heritage of Poetovio, one of the most important Roman cities in the province of Upper Pannonia.
“Archival science has deep roots dating back to the time of the Roman Empire. By researching and understanding the historical archival practices that existed in Poetovio, we strengthen scientific knowledge and our cultural identity,” says Assoc. Prof. Dr. Peter Pavel Klasinc, archival advisor and head of archival studies programs at Alma Mater Europaea University.
