Based on epidemiological research and data, experts of the World Association for Dual Disorders expect an increase in dual disorders such as addictive forms of behavior and concurrent other mental disorders. "Dual disorders are still largely underestimated and ignored. It is necessary to reduce the stigma associated with dual disorders, to increase awareness, the level of knowledge, and education, to promote research and the dissemination of information among professionals and the general public, and to train more experts in the field of psychiatry and mental health who will be engaged in the research and treatment of dual disorders," the president of the particular Mercedes Lovrečič is convinced.

The event will be held with the European Opiate Addiction Treatment Association, the Slovenian WADD Members, and the National Institute of Public Health.
