Archivists celebrated

Professors and students of Archival Studies at Alma Mater prepared an event on the birthday of the Slovenian epic poet and the first Slovenian archivist, Anton Aškerc - on January 9.

The introduction to this year's gathering on this day was enriched with the guitar sounds by a Music Academy graduate in Vienna and Slovenian musical artist Timotej Kosovinc. Subsequently, Matjaž Aškerc, master of archival and documentary studies, spoke about Anton Aškerc as an archivist.

Participants also listened to a lecture by Dr. Nadja Plazar on doctoral theses and the development of archival science.

"At the event, we officially opened the Archival Studies office at Alma Mater in Ljubljana and introduced archival literature that interested individuals could also take for free," stated Dr. Peter Pavel Klasinc, head of Archival Studies at Alma Mater, who also awarded special praise to the Archival Studies students Anja Props and Lucija Pšenica.

"In addition to the praise for the students, we also awarded the 'Golden Archivist Award,' received by the best professor of Archival Studies at Alma Mater, Prof. Dr. Miroslav Novak, and the best student of the master's program in archival and documentary studies, Tanja Ribnikar," added Dr. Klasinc.
