Iryna Stanković (1960) is a dance teacher and choreographer of national-stage dances. She acquired her education at the Higher Education Programme for Culture, course for Folklore Artistic Creativity in Kiev. She continues her education through Master’s studies Arts Therapy at the Faculty of Education at the University of Ljubljana. She has a lot of experience as a professional dancer of national-stage dance, including in a dance-music group of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs. She spreads her knowledge on national dances of the world in Slovenia through the association of ethnic culture Ritmi planeta.
HISTORY OF DANCE
Subject History of Dance has two parts. In the first part, students learn about particularities of the world dances and their beginnings. In the second part, they learn about development of European dance art through time, from the prehistory to the beginning of the 20th century. Lessons include a theoretical part with presentation of videos and a practical part, where the students learn some of the world and historic dances.
