Originally from Ghana Dr. John Boakye-Danquah holds a PhD in Environmental Sustainability from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada, an M.Sc. from the UN University for Advanced Study of Sustainability in Tokyo, Japan, and a BA in Geography and Resource Development from the University of Ghana. Throughout his academic journey, he has been awarded six international scholarships from the governments of Ghana, the UN, and Canadian universities. Dr. Boakye-Danquah's professional background encompasses diverse roles across government, academia, and non-profit sector, including post-doctoral fellow, research scientist, social policy analyst, consultant, and university professor. He has made significant contributions to his field, with 15 peer-reviewed papers published in reputable international journals and contributions to four book chapters. Additionally, he has been invited to present his work at more than fifteen international conferences and events. He is well recognized for his innovative teaching approach to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals involving interdisciplinary teamwork, and students tackling complex sustainability issues through simulations, debates, and critical reflections.
