Matevž Česen is a professional dancer, choreographer, coach and judge. He started dancing at an early age at the Bolero dance school where he is employed today as the chief coach. He went to the artistic high school majoring in contemporary dance and continued his studies at the London Studio Center Academy in Great Britain where in 2009 he graduated with honours as a professional dancer who majored in acting and singing as well. During his education abroad and back home he acquired the title of the Dancesport coach and dance judge with a licence from the Dance Association of Slovenia.

In his rich competing career, he was the state champion for more than ten times, four times he won the European and four times the world champion title in diverse disciplines of modern competing dances. He completed his ten-year competing career with the award for the best dance number at the North American Dance Championships Festival in New York, USA. In  2004 he was granted the award for best individual among the competing dancers and an acknowledgement for the best versatile dance in Slovenia. In 2009 he was granted the award for the best appearance during the tour of Great Britain and thus received international acclaim. Currently he is passing on his knowledge to younger dancers who have likewise won numerous state, European and world champion titles and was pronounced the best pedagogue and choreographer. In 2014 as a coach he received a renowned acknowledgment of the Slovenian Olympic Committee. In 2016 the Dance Association of Slovenia granted him an award for the best choreographer with the most won medals at European and world competitions. As a coach and choreographer he was invited to the Gala World Event IDO where his dancers won third place among world champions in various disciplines.

He appeared as a dancer and choreographer of numerous events, gala events, state ceremonies, TV shows, video spots, commercial campaigns and at concerts of numerous popular local and foreign singers and groups. He danced many roles in dance, theatre and puppet performances. As a choreographer he worked on performance Dilema, musical comedy Alpska Saga and musical Saturday Night Fever. He performs extensively all throughout Europe just to mention a few: Royal Variety Performance with the British singer Duffy for the Royal Family, with the American singer Nicole Scherzinger and pop group Pussycat dolls, dance and fashion show Desigual; tour of Jazz Dance Company in Great Britain, appearance in a BBC TV series for children Dick and Dom and dance performance Miles Ahead at London's West End. He also choreographed a dance show for A Finnish cruise ship. Since he has always been interested in dance from various aspects, he currently writes for the internet dance portal Parada plesa. Lately as a choreographer and coach he holds workshops all over Europe.
