Vita Osojnik (1976) works as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, mentor and artist in street theatre, where she has lately been most intensely involved in direction of choreography and performance. She finished Secondary School of Music and Ballet in Ljubljana, programme ballet and continued the studies by successfully graduating at the respected Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) in Salzburg. After returning home, she started to teach full-time; in her classes she moves boundaries between the ‘fusion’ of modern dance and ballet techniques. She is a full-time professor at the Secondary Preschool Education and Gimnazija Ljubljana (SVŠGL), at the Qulenium association from Kranj and at the Street Theatre School (ŠUGLA). She is a tutor and a professor at SEAD, as well as many other dance workshops home and abroad.
CLASS
Class is based on anatomically correct body use and its orientation in space. It consists of floor and vertical dance techniques, through which I focus on body memory and strive to acquire better coordination, physical condition and to develop own creativity and pleasure in movement. That is why I include many dance forms and techniques, I combine skills from ballet, modern dance, modern techniques, street theatre, partnering and improvisation.
