Project description:

From 2022, Alma Mater Europaea – European Center, Maribor has approved the AMEU-ECM Infrastructure Program "Science for Youth" for a period of 6 years, as support for research activities in the field of social, health and information sciences and care for the popularization of science among young people as well as the wider the public.

The goals and activities of the infrastructure program AMEU-ECM "Science for young people" are aimed at the production of innovative, technologically advanced information communication solutions and systems for the promotion of science in complementary fields, which are developed within the framework of the operation and network of partners by Alma Mater Europaea in Maribor (hereafter AMEU ). These will enable the creation of new research potential in complementary fields of study, which AMEU develops with its branches both in Slovenia and more widely in the regional and international space.

Science must become an object of curiosity for young people. The infrastructure program AMEU - ECM "Science for young people" will, through promotional activities and support to institutions that enable young people to spend their free time in contact with science, try to bring closer and establish the basic infrastructure for the practical testing of their ideas and teach them the practical use of science.

The purpose of the AMEU infrastructure program "Science for young people" is to support research activities in the field of social, health and information sciences and to promote the popularization of science among young people as well as the general public.

Due to the dispersion of its locations throughout Slovenia (Maribor, Koper, Ljubljana, Murska Sobota), the AMEU infrastructure program "Science for young people" will comprehensively cover a wider area, where activities related to the popularization of science will be carried out. In this way, we ensure regional dispersion of events and even more intensive long-term promotion and popularization of science among young people, especially in neglected regions in Slovenia.

AMEU's infrastructure program "Science for young people" aims to create a public space for discourse, presentations and those events that connect science with art, popular lectures and workshops for young people. With a systemic approach, this enables the creation of innovative, technologically advanced information communication solutions and systems for the promotion of science, which include innovative, supportive research technological equipment and human resources, as well as connections with knowledge institutions in the region and beyond. Science must become an object of curiosity for young people.
